This Virgin Hotel captures the brand’s eclectic, playful identity through a custom design that mixes San Francisco’s Victorian-era past with the city’s 1960s rock ’n’ roll reinterpretation guided by Creative Director Matthew Rolston. A tall glass partition divides the intimate Shag Room from the flagship Commons Club, a flagship restaurant, bar, and lounge designed to feel like a modern social club. The Comons Club reinterprets Victorian grandeur with architectural elements like the bar's installation wall, furniture, millwork, chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows draped in rich velvet curtains.
Plush Vachetta leather bar stools invite lingering, while cafe-style bench seating along the floor-to-ceiling windows creates intimate pockets for conversation and quiet observation. Signature Virgin Red accents appear thoughtfully throughout public areas, corridors, and Chambers, with bold red speakers in the Commons Club nodding to Virgin Records roots.
