Bamboo World Kitchen
Vancouver, British Columbia
At Bamboo World Kitchen, the idea of “kitchens from around the world,” as imagined by Sean Flynn, unfolds through both menu and space.
The design draws from regions where bamboo thrives, stretching from the Pacific Northwest through Mexico, Vietnam, Thailand, India, Japan, and into the Mediterranean. A world map crafted from locally recycled bamboo chopsticks anchors the space, acting as both a focal point and story. Bamboo reappears in countertops, shelving, and tabletops, creating a rhythm that feels natural.
Sustainability carries through in the details including takeout boxes, cutlery, small touchpoints that reinforce the ethos without excess.
The palette leans fresh and organic. Soft, natural tones are punctuated by bright green wall graphics tied to the brand’s values, while diamond-shaped onyx tiles guide movement toward the counter, adding contrast and a subtle sense of flow. The result is a space that feels connected, where material, story, and experience come together.
