Our Design Philosophy

Successful projects are the result of well defined needs, properly managed processes and innovative design, framed by a strong client-designer relationship.

At Hager & Associates we believe interior design is not a static art; it is about the intimate interaction between the human body and space. Our passion for design inspires us to generate innovative spaces to engage the user. However, it is our strong relationship with the client which delivers an operationally successful design we can proudly stand by.

Our Team

Each member of our design team has been selected for their unique creativity and ability to solve complex design issues. All of our team members have a thorough understanding of the design process from conceptualization to installation. It is our practice to assemble a project team that will remain constant throughout the duration of the project. The team is lead by a senior project designer who reports directly to the principal and serves as a direct liaison for the client at all times.

At Hager & Associates we strive to maintain the highest level of design standards and education. Our team members continually stay accredited through yearly educational updates and seminars. Over the years we have also developed valuable relationships with numerous specialized trades and technicians. We have fine-tuned our communication with them and consult them as a resource regularly when expert input is required.

Hager & Associates success is a direct result of our highly diversified and skilled team. Our work culture is a collaboration of multidisciplinary individuals who employ the latest resources and approach projects with a mature competence. Senior designers are supported by a team of highly creative intermediate and junior designers. The team is able to continually hone their skills through company supported education and work experience.

Doris Hager, Principal and Lead Designer

Doris Hager is the sole founder of Hager and Associates Inc. Having been involved in the design business since 1982, Ms. Hager has diversified her career and the company's directive in several industries. Ms. Hager is dedicated to continually evolving both personally and in conjunction with the company. Through experience, continuity and longstanding commitment to her clients, Doris has earned tremendous respect within the field and built long-lasting personal and professional relationships.

Ms. Hager's formal training began with a BSHE in interior design with a minor in German (1980) from the University of Georgia.

Voula Goutsos, Designer
B Comm. M.I.D.

Voula Goutsos is a graduate of the University of Manitoba and holds a Masters Degree in Interior Design and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree. Ms. Goutsos is involved in every phase of the design process from the conceptual component through to working drawings and project implementation. Her portfolio includes projects in hospitality, retail and institutional ranging in scope from small to large.

Janine Anderson, Designer
BA, B.I.D.

Janine Anderson holds a Bachelor of Interior Design Degree from Ryerson University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia. Ms. Anderson is engaged in a diverse range of projects from conceptual development through to final built product. In addition to her growing portfolio with Hager & Associates, her previous experience includes corporate design in Toronto and retail design in Sydney, Australia
